104.1 "The Truth" Tucson Mon, Tue, Wed

Here are the some of the stories we'll be discussing Monday morning 9am-12noon ET on 104.1 "The Truth." You can listen live here at the web site.

Lee Boyland will join me at 10:05am to discuss the latest developements with Israel and Iran.

One of the items that Lee and I have been discussing quite a bit lately is the coming confrontation between Israel and Iran. Two years ago when I first interviewed Lee on KCMO/Kansas City, we talked about a scenario of terrorists working with Iran to smuggle a nuclear device(s) into the United States. Now, with the continuation of the Iran nuclear weapons program, it appears either the U.S. or Israel will be forced to take action. To put it into perspective, what situation would the world be in today had Israel not taken action in 1982 knocking out Iraq's nuclear weapons facility?

Personally, I believe we are going to be forced to take action before Israel because if we do not, the middle east will be in full-scale war. If you think gas prices are a problem now, how about when the availability of middle eastern oil is in doubt?

Another issue we'll be discussing is the recent Supreme Court decision on the Washington, D.C. gun ban. I spoke much about this Friday night on WBT/Charlotte(You can listen to the podcast of Friday's show at www.WBT.com. Click podcasts and choose the show for Tara. I filled in for her last Friday night.).

In the Friday night discussion, I pointed out that of all the rights listed in the "Bill of Rights" of the U.S. Constitution, why would four justices on the Supreme Court rule that the 2nd amendment is a collective, not individual right? The right for self protection is God-given and not for judges to take away. What we should take from the ruling is not that we won (5-4), but that something as precious as a constitutional right came so close to be nullified by 9 judges. How fragile must be our rights if the Supreme Court is the final authority. A final authority that was never intended by the framers and founders of the nation 225 years ago. In fact, our founding fathers were very concerned about an out-of-control government and a tyrannical judiciary. They put together a system of "checks-and-balances" and the legislative branch was designed to be the final authority. Why? Because it is the legislative branch that we directly elect and are the representatives of the people.
