Superintending Providence

Our founding fathers used often a phrase "Superintending Providence" when speaking of dramatic events in the early days of the country.  To them, this phrase is unmistakable in what they meant.  They were talking about God's intervention into the affairs of men.  Specifically, the affairs of a bunch of idealists sparking the American revolution.  What is sad is that many in academia are denying any religious influence or connection to the nation's early years.   Originally, I had planned to pen a few instances where prayer changed America or provide a collection of where this "Providence" was on display.  The more research I do, the more examples I find.  As my list grows, perhaps here or somewhere else, my collection of these examples will be found.  For now, let me say that there are simply too many occurances to conclude any thing but that America's creation was through the guiding hand from above.     What is further sad today is that our nation is turning away from the foundational beliefs that led a few to create what we call today the United States of America.
