Saturday Night Special on WBT/Charlotte 9pm ET

Welcome to a new weekly program on WBT/Charlotte called "Saturday Night Special." I'll be hosting once or twice a month as we continue to focus on the up coming Presidential election and the tightness of the race in North Carolina which is considered a battleground state. The Charlotte Observer has a story today about the show we are replacing here on WBT.

We'll be talking at 9:35pm ET with Dr. Sean Foreman of Barry University. He'll give us his thoughts about the Presidential race as we explore a Newsweek poll out tonight. The Poll has the race tight with Obama only a 3 point lead nationwide.

The race here in Carolina is as close as it can get. Which is why some political analysts I've talked with believe North Carolina is a possible Obama grab. I don't think so but the latest poll shows it is very close.

At 10:05pm ET, I'll be talking with Jim Kouri. He is the fifth vice-president of the National Association of Chief's of Police. He has a distinguished law enforcement background including his role on a panel for Homeland Security. He is a frequent author and commentator on issues involving our national security. Among the items, we'll discuss tonight is the increasing concern about Iran and what that may mean to the U.S. You can read Jim's columns at his web site:

Meanwhile, according to a story tonight, President Bush has signed off on an Israeli strike plan against Iran nuke sites.

Lee is a nuclear weapons expert from his days in the U.S. military. He is an author and speaker regarding terrorism. He has been predicting the coming concern about Iran for more than the last two years. He'll join us at 10:35pm ET tonight. You can read Lee's writings at http://www.leeboylandbooks.com/
